Author: Leon Augustin L'Hermitte
Landscape, Drawings, Coloured pencils and pastel, 41x50 cm
Origin: France, 1890s
The Hermitage drawing is very typical of Lhermitte's manner. The theme of peasants and their daily life was his favourite. In his pastel works the artist accentuates details with strokes of colour crayons thus creating a pictorial texture resembling the technique of the Impressionists and the effects of plein-air art.
